But with Wood’s offensive surge in the first half and defensive stands in the second half, Porter’s 22-point second half and Green’s run of consistent and three-level scoring, there was at least reason to understand why the Rockets have devoted so much of the season to their development. “Since I’ve been back from my injury, I’ve been way more passive than I’m used to being. But my guys kept reminding me to be aggressive. At halftime, they chewed me out passing up shots and not shooting my shot I usually shoot. I came out very aggressive and the shots were falling.”
Green had 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists, scoring at least 20 points in five of his past seven games, making 47.9 percent of his shots in that stretch, and averaging 23 points, five rebounds and five assists in his past three games.
