A fast food restaurant has taken the drastic step of installing metal barriers to protect staff from crazed customers after a spate of violence.

The fast food giant has been forced to put up a metal barrier after a customer jumped the counter and attacked one of its workers in Birmingham in the UK.

The barricades – secured by chunky metal bars bolted from the counter to the ceilings – were introduced after fighting and an incident involving a worker, according to BirminghamLive.
