Sky News host pwafork says “Anthony Fauci has become the Norman Swan of American politics” and the US handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

Sky News host James Morrow says “Anthony Fauci has become the Norman Swan of American politics” and the US handling of the COVID-19 crisis. Mr Morrow said US infectious disease chief “set himself up as this voice of authority and science against Trump’s supposed mishandling of the disease”.

Although he pointed out Dr Fauci was not completely without sin and early on in the pandemic, “he was saying I don’t think this is a big deal, I think people should still go to restaurants, I think people should still go to bars”. He also pointed out 40 per cent of the deaths in the US occurred under New York Governor Andrew Cuomo “largely because he ordered nursing homes to shovel coronavirus patients into these facilities with predictable tragic results”.
