A woman has been arrested after a father found his two sons dead in a New South Wales home. Police were called to an address on Chapman Parade in Faulconbridge about 12.40pm on Tuesday due to concern for the welfare of a woman and two children. The bodies of two boys, aged nine and 11, were found inside the home by a relative, police confirmed. Superintendent John Nelson told reporters it was a “very tragic scene”.
A “thorough” police investigation is underway, Police Commissioner Karen Webb said in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. Nelson added there will be lots of support services available for first responders as well as those at the children’s school. “This is about as tragic as it gets,” he said. “The Blue Mountains is a very peaceful community, and they will all be in genuine shock.” Footage showed homicide detectives combing the scene on Tuesday afternoon.
