The FBI has revealed Donald Trump's would-be assassin may have been waiting in a sniper nest for at least 12 hours.

Jeffery Veltri, FBI Special Agent in charge, said on Monday that Routh had an active online presence and the Bureau was investigating claims he made about recruiting Afghan soldiers to fight for Ukraine. Concerns have been raised regarding how Routh knew of Trump’s golf game at his West Palm Beach club, with Mr Rowe admitting it was an"off-the-record movement" and was not publicly listed on the former president's schedule.
