Footage of a man injecting women with what appear to be drugs in a public space has sparked concern about an increase in drug use in the Kimberley.

CCTV footage provided to the ABC shows a man using needles to inject two women on a suburban street in Broome , WA.

"It does raise serious concerns about the use of meth in the town and how it's being delivered to people," he said. Mr Amor said it was important for police and government to listen to residents because statistics did not necessarily illustrate the full extent of the issue. Ms D'Anna said the video showed drug use was no longer confined to specific spaces in Broome as was previously the case."I have heard from constituents, community members, organisations with concerns about the use of drugs and needle syringes.

"The best way of getting … long-term results is to focus on trying to stop this from happening in the first place," he said."They don't have access to a whole range of services and all of these determinants impact upon someone's mental health and social emotional wellbeing.Mr Amor said a detox facility and safe spaces were crucial.Ms D'Anna agreed a focus on prevention to curbing rates of drug addiction was needed.
