Australian Olympic silver medallist Medline Groves has condemned FINA's decision to ban transgender athletes from competing against females labelling the historic move 'deeply shameful'.
FINA’s decision makes swimming the first sport to take the stance against transgender athletes with Groves declaring the swimming governing body should be ashamed.

Offer ends 31 October, 2022 The activist group called on FINA to “re-examine” the decision and consider the impact it would have on the lives of trans-people around the world. "I’m really supportive of the open category that they are suggesting that they are going to bring into competition because it gives a chance for everyone to be involved in our sport," Seebohm said.
"To keep them in a category that is going to see them racing people that are very much on the same level playing field.
