Emergency services rushed to the scene to get the blaze under control at the Royal Gwent Hospital's outpatient department in Newport, South Wales.All appointments in the department have been cancelled for today, but the health board confirmed that all inpatients and staff are safe.
In a statement released on Twitter this morning, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board wrote: "We are currently dealing with a fire at the Royal Gwent Hospital Outpatients Department."The department has been evacuated and the South Wales Fire and Rescue service are on scene. All outpatient appointments have been cancelled for today and all inpatients and staff are safe."
