The fire burning near The Lakes, Wooroloo and Woottating was upgraded to an emergency warning alert just after 4pmAt 7:15 local time, the warning was dropped to a watch an act alert as easing weather conditions offered crews a slight reprieve, however it remained out of control and unpredictable and moving in an easterly direction.The fire began on Wednesday afternoon near Great Eastern Highway, the major route east out of the city, and is burning close to the medium-security Acacia Prison for men.Aerial footage showed flames tearing through at least one shed, water tanks and moving quickly across open fields near the prison.DFES incident controller Murray McBride said he was investigating reports from the fireground one home had been lost in the blaze.'We'll have our urban search and rescue come up in the next few hours to start giving us addresses of those properties and exact losses.'He said there were 150 firefighters at the scene, and they were using water bombers to try and slow the spread.He was treated by a paramedic at the scene and Mr McBride said the man was now back on the fireground working.Mr McBride said it had become a major fire event, burning through 560 hectares.A large C-130 air tanker based in Busselton that can carry up to 15,000 litres of water or fire retardant was deployed to the fireground.But Mr McBride said weather conditions were becoming more favourable.It's unclear at this stage how the fire started.'We're very confident the prison is defendable and safe at the moment,' Mr McBride sai
