Multiple bushfires are burning out of control across NSW and three firefighters have been airlifted to hospital with severe burns at the Green Wattle Creek fire
However, an Ambulance spokesperson said the injuries were not severe, with one person taken to Bowral Hospital with a burnt hand and another taken to Campbelltown Hospital with burns to the neck. Another firefighter had injuries to their hand.
There are now six fires burning at 'Emergency Warning" levels, including at Bangala Creek in Tenterfield, Little L Complex in Singleton, Gospers Mountain in the Hawksbury, Three Mile near the Central Coast, Currowan near Shoalhaven and North Black Range near Queanbeyan.In the Hawkesbury and south-west of Warragamba Dam residents have been advised to evacuate if they aren't staying to defend their homes.
On Friday total fire bans will remain in place across the regions, including Greater Sydney, the Far North and North Coast, Greater Hunter, Illawarra and Shoalhaven, and the Southern Ranges. With about 100 fires burning across the state on Thursday, firefighters have multiple major areas of concern where homes are predicted to come under threat amid rising temperatures and strong, gusty westerly winds.
The RFS also suggests the Gospers Mountain blaze is likely to merge with the Little L fire burning to its north-west.
