BREAKING: Five young campers, reported missing in the Central Australian outback, have been located safe and well by Northern Territory Police.
It is believed the group of young doctors, who left Alice Springs at around 5pm on Saturday, inadvertently took a wrong turn and ended up driving 5km into a dry river bed of Hale River before their vehicle became bogged.
Three of the group members have returned to Alice Springs via helicopter, while the other two will return in their vehicle once authorities assist in recovering it. Concerns were raised after they failed to meet up with friends at a campground, 150 kilometres east of Alice Springs over the weekend.
