Devastating wildfires have swept through Los Angeles, leaving at least five dead and 180,000 residents evacuated. The blazes, among the worst in the city's history, have consumed thousands of homes and businesses, including properties of celebrities. Firefighters are battling the infernos across the city, aided by Governor Newsom's call for vigilance and actress Jamie Lee Curtis's $1 million donation to relief efforts.

Thousands of homes and businesses have been engulfed in flames, including the homes of Hollywood A-listers to the likes of Paris Hilton and A deadly Eaton fire has ravaged in excess of 4,280 ha, while separate blazes have destroyed 346ha of land in Hurst and about 140ha in Lidia. "At one point, we’ll be able to do a more thorough search of these impacted areas," Sheriff Luna said on Wednesday.
"More than 7,500 firefighting personnel are on the ground working with local and federal partners to respond to California's ongoing historic wildfires," he wrote on X. Her pledge comes after the actress choked back tears during an emotional interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which aired in the United States on Wednesday night.
