University of Sydney Professor Anne Twomey says there would be “no trouble” passing a law through Parliament instructing all new ministerial appointments be publicised.
“I can understand why the government wants to, in the short term, fix this by just arrangements between Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Governor General and leave any legislation until a little bit later.
“Just in case there’s anything else that comes out they want to fix as well and put it in a package.”
