NRL: Storm Fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen says he is out to make his doubters eat their words with reports he is being shopped around.
The Dragons chase of Panthers superstar Jarome Luai is reportedly off, with incoming coach Shane Flanagan eyeing a different five-eighth.
Jayden Sullivan also departed for the Tigers in the off-season, leaving only Ben Hunt and nre recruit Kyle Flanagan as the two recognised playmakers in the Dragons’ squad.Luai is one of the biggest names set to hit the open market on November 1, but according to The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio, Tom Dearden is in Flanagan’s sight.
The 22-year-old could field offers up to $1 million on the open market due to a shortage of quality playmakers in the NRL. “I’m going to say it won’t happen, I get the sense the Saints won’t go down that path with Jarome Luai,” Riccio said on“I get that sense that they’ll make a play for Tom Dearden, he’s a young player and you’ll get him a lot cheaper than a million dollars.Cowboys general manager Michael Luck previously said: “he is only young so we’d love to have him here for another few years”.
