A number of flights have been cancelled out of Sydney Airport this morning, amid strong winds.
"In anticipation of bad weather today, domestic airlines advised overnight that some services would be affected," Sydney Airport said in a statement."Passengers who are travelling today are recommended to arrive two hours prior to domestic flight departures, and three hours for international services."Major airports around the country are expecting bigger crowds than were seen in the April or July school holidays.
In the next two to three weeks, millions of Australians will be taking to the skies for domestic and international flights. During the upcoming holiday period, 1.65 million travellers are expected to pass through the airport's terminals. This has prompted a contingency response, with 100 extra staff being brought on board to help manage passenger flow and get people to their gate as quickly as possible.
