Owner of Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park Sam Mitchell says “for every koala we are seeing alive, there are 100 dead”.

Been caught in a car is only slightly better than being caught on foot. Cars are not safe places to be”.\n\nHe said its likely homes will be lost, but authorities will consider the operation to be a success if no lives are lost on Saturday.\n\nA seven-day State of Emergency has been declared in NSW- the third in just eight weeks.\n\nEight people have died and 449 homes been destroyed since January 1st.\n
