Former ABC host and comedian Tom Ballard has been criticised for a controversial social media post relating to the conflict unfolding in Israel.
More than 700 people have died and more than 1000 are injured after Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a series of planned attacks on Israel over the weekend.
“Can’t we seriously all agree that murdering, raping, violating civilians is a bridge too far?” replied one. “Have you gone f***ing bonkers? This is a tragedy and will continue to be a tragedy for Palestinians civilians to come. There are no winners here,” said another. The criticism towards Ballard and Williams was similar to the barbs aimed at Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe who also shared a social media post in support of Palestine.
