Former Cisco CMO Karen Walker joins Intel as senior VP and CMO:

Walker, a veteran of more than 20 years of global technology industry marketing, will join Intel as senior VP and CMO, effective Oct. 23. Walker will oversee Intel’s global marketing group and be responsible for building and strengthening Intel’s brand, supporting growth strategies, cultivating opportunities in new and existing markets, and increasing demand for Intel's products and solutions globally, according to a statement.

Walker previously served as CMO at Cisco since 2015. She was the force behind innovative campaigns such as“It was a crowning moment,” Walker said of the campaign. “It was the right campaign and the right time for the company. The response to it, especially internally, was just phenomenal.” Walker said she made the decision to join Intel—something she views as “a commitment” because she has “worked for companies for long periods of time”—for three reasons: one, because she believed the company has “the right strategy, culture and leadership team” in place; two, at Intel, marketing is valued and seen as a growth driver, which she believes to be true based on budget, the people and the time and attention paid to it as part of the leadership team, she said.
