Police arrested the 52-year-old at Chatswood Police Station on Tuesday night and charged him with knowingly taking part in the supply of a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
The investigation into Mr MacGill began in April 2021 after he was allegedly kidnapped by a group of men.
Police allege Mr MacGill was approached by a man at an intersection in Cremorne on the evening on April 14 before he was forced into a car, allegedly taken to a farm in Bringelly, had his clothes taken off and was assaulted and threatened at gun point.Police previously said Mr MacGill may have been targeted due to a friendship with a person who allegedly stole 2 kilograms of cocaine.MacGill released on bailPolice said he had been released on strict bail conditions until his scheduled appearance.
Earlier this year Mr MacGill was cleared of intimidating and using offensive language towards a bar manager in an incident at the Argyle Bar in the Rocks in Sydney last year. The former cricketer played for the Australian men's Test team for 10 years, taking more than 200 wickets.
