Foster flags action legal action against police over Port Douglas tackle
Peter Foster has foreshadowed legal action against the Queensland Police Service following his footy-tackle-style arrest in Port Douglas two years ago.His matters, which he is contesting, were adjourned until next monthBut in an unexpected move, Mr Foster said any compensation awarded to him would be donated to charity."And that may see action for compensation."
He faced court briefly on Thursday, accused of defrauding a Hong Kong pilot of Bitcoin, valued at about $2 million, in 2019 and 2020.Mr Foster was infamously arrested by covert officers while walking his dog on the beach in Port Douglas in 2020.The 59-year-old said since being granted bail by a Queensland court on multi-million-dollar fraud charges, he alleged he had sought-medical treatment on his knee.
Mr Foster said the Port Douglas scuffle was the most physical altercation with authorities he had ever had.
