Four individuals accused of the murder of teenager Cassius Turvey have formally entered not guilty pleas in the Western Australian Supreme Court. The trial, presided over by Chief Justice Peter Quinlan, is set to begin on February 10, 2024, following pre-trial hearings on January 30 and 31.

Four individuals accused of killing teenager Cassius Turvey have formally entered not guilty pleas in court. Cassius, a 15-year-old Noongar Yamatji boy, passed away in a Perth hospital ten days after an incident on October 13, 2022. The accused include Brodie Lee Palmer, Mitchell Colin Forth, Jack Steven James Brearley, and Aleesha Louise Gilmore.

The trial, presided over by Chief Justice Peter Quinlan, is set to begin on February 10, 2024, with pre-trial hearings scheduled for January 30 and 31. Additionally, Brearley, Forth, and Ethan Robert MacKenzie (who will stand trial alongside the accused) have pleaded not guilty to unlawfully detaining and assaulting another boy on October 9, 2022. Forth has pleaded guilty to stealing a hat and crutches on October 13, 2022, while Brearley and Palmer have denied this charge. All four accused have also denied assaulting another person on the same day
