A Townsville man has caused extensive damage to a national park after using a front loader to create a path to his property.

"It's been a massive eyesore in that area for nearly four years now … it has ruined it," Mr Dunk said."It covered an area of more than 19,000 square meters and included protected marine plants, including a variety of mangrove species.
