Sydney coach John Longmire says Lance Franklin will be in rehab for the rest of his career as part of a training program designed to get him back on the park in 2021.
"That's been a real positive for him. He's done that without running. In the past he's been doing that and run. Because we made the decision to not play, we've stripped it right back to strengthening him before he starts running. "The reality is it's part of his program now for however long he plays. That's a requirement for what he has to do to be strong. That changes as his body gets older. He's played a bit of footy so his program has to evolve with that.""His last game, he missed a stack of footy and kicked four," Longmire said. "His work before Christmas, he was playing on Dane Rampe in competitive drills - you have to ask Dane how he went. He was going really well.
