The teenage driver who ran down expectant parents crossing the road, killing the pair and their unborn child, will be out of prison before his 24th birthday.
The offender was sentenced in Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday over two counts of manslaughter under the Youth Justice Act because he was 17 when he killed them.Facebook
Kate Leadbetter, 31, and Matt Field, 37, died at the intersection of Finucane and Vienna roads in Alexandra Hills, east of Brisbane, about 5.30pm on Australia Day 2021.The court heard the killer had been before the Children’s Court seven times on 107 charges, his first appearance in 2019 as a 15-year-old.Three stockings hang in the couple’s home for Christmas 2020, as Matt Field holds an ultrasound picture of unborn son Miles.
