A French man has died in hospital following a suspected brown snake bite while working as a grain harvest casual in a small Victorian Mallee town.He was working as a harvest casual at Access Grain in north-west VictoriaEmergency services were called to a property in Nullawil, in Victoria's north-west, on October 24 after the man's friends found him unresponsive.
The 25-year-old was flown to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, about 300 kilometres away, in a critical condition, suffering from cardiac arrest.A Victoria Police spokesperson said a report would be prepared for the coroner, and that the man's cause of death is yet to be determined.Wade Humphreys is the owner of the Access Grain receival site in Nullawil, where the French man was employed on a working holiday visa.
A spokesperson for the French embassy said they were aware of the fatality but could not comment further.
