AstraZeneca is rebranding its COVID-19 vaccine to 'Vaxzevria' across the globe as it says it wants to prevent confusion over people's vaccination status when international travel restarts.

A technicality also means the Australian-made version is not approved in Europe, because Australian manufacturer CSL doesn't operate there In Australia, the AstraZeneca vaccine being made by biotechnology company CSL is still going by its old name, causing some confusion and creating concern it could be seen as different to the same vaccine being made overseas.
