Former prime minister Julia Gillard believes she can already see what the 'biggest' obstacle will be for Anthony Albanese despite only being in power for less than three weeks.

Ms Gillard - who held the top job from 2010 to 2013 - was quizzed on what she believed was the"biggest" obstacle for Mr Albanese.

Mr Albanese has not slowed, jetting off to two countries and holding several crucial meetings, since he became the fourth Labor leader to win the Federal Election from opposition since the Second World War following Gough Whitlam, Bob Hawke and Kevin Rudd. Mr Albanese - who wanted to begin to build the relationship with the three nations under a new government - received a warm welcome and discussed a range of issues including China, the Indo-Pacific region, climate change, security, trade and aid.

The Prime Minister then convened a meeting with his party to decide the ministers that would fill the portfolios.Days later he flew over to Perth to thank his Labor team after the election success in Western Australian and then a two-day visit to Indonesia to meet with President Joko Widodo to strengthen Canberra's relationship with its neighbour.
