Three states saw a horror day on the water after a jet-ski was found drifting on the Gold Coast and a swimmer went missing in the Murray River.
Around 1:35pm, police were alerted to the drifting vessel around 13km east of the Seaway after another vessel noticed the craft and no rider in its vicinity.
Police launched a multi-agency land, sea and air search to locate a 54-year-old Labrador man who is believed to be the missing rider.A seven-year-old Perth girl has drowned in a river north of the city after going missing during a day trip with her family. Local residents searched for the child and found her body floating in Moore River. Her family were visiting the area on a day trip.Meanwhile, a search has been suspended overnight for a man missing in the Murray River in NSW.
Officers from Murray River Police District and local SES volunteers, assisted by Marine Rescue from Moama, have been searching the river and riverbanks for the man without success.WATER RESCUE AT SEMAPHORE SOUTH, SA
