to ease pressure on parks and footpaths, which have become overcrowded during the coronavirus pandemic.to halve the size of Moore Park Golf Course to free up more parkland for the public and reduce pressure on packed parks and paths.
The nine-hole course would be a "premium" venue "balancing the needs of passive recreation, biodiversity, water management and other sporting needs", council papers said. They said the plan for the site, which is in Ms Burney's electorate of Barton and near the boundary of Mr Albanese's seat of Grayndler, "fails to acknowledge the most important issue – our residents".
"It would be devastating. We would lose members, and once you lose members you lose the culture of the place and the community. There's no way we could survive on half our income."
