Government’s emissions standards to make EVs ‘cheaper’ but SUVs and utes ‘more expensive’

Liberal MP Aaron Violi says the government’s vehicle emissions standards will make EVs “cheaper” but SUVs and utes “more expensive”.

Mr Violi joined Sky News Australia to discuss the latest developments on the government’s proposed emissions standards for vehicles. “We need to firstly take a step back when we look at the emissions standards and understand what the government are trying to do by their own admission in their paper,” he said.

“They’re trying to push people to EVs and to hybrids and take away those SUVs and the – utes that may use.
