Nationals leader David Littleproud says there are more measures the government can take to further prevent exposing Australia to foot and mouth disease.

“Why haven’t we banned any passenger carrying food product … New Zealand’s already done it,” he told Sky News Australia.

“That’s the first step, and then the next step after that is for them to explain the science as to what is that threshold question around where there needs to be tougher border measures.“Not just to us, but to Indonesia.”
