Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the government has sought to improve the relationship with China by being “patient, calibrated and deliberate” and engaging in a constructive way. Mr Albanese said the improvement in trade relations with China is a “positive thing”.

“This is a market of 1.4 billion people. This is an economy that is growing faster than the global average. “And this is an economy that is complimentary in many ways to the Australian economy. So, there are wins to be had.”
