Chris Christie will seek the Republican nomination for a second time, declaring he is “fearless” enough to take on Donald Trump.
The former New Jersey governor, who ran for president in 2016, will officially launch his campaign from New Hampshire on Tuesday after filing official paperwork.
Mr Christie, 60, also sought the Republican nomination in 2016 but eventually dropped out of the race and endorsed Mr Trump. Picture: APMr Christie’s nomination comes after former vice president Mike Pence entered the race. The pair had a dramatic falling out when he chose to certify the 2020 US election result and subsequently testified in the probe about the January 6 riots, alienating him from Mr Trump’s fan base.
