A head chef is fighting for life after being attacked near Notting Hill Carnival in London’s west on Monday night. Mussie Imnetu, 41, was found unconscious with a head injury in Queensway, Bayswater, just before 11.30pm. The Metropolitan Police said officers deployed as part of the Carnival policing operation attended and provided emergency first aid until paramedics arrived. The Swedish national remains in hospital in a critical condition. His family is being supported by specialist officers.
Police have released an image of him leaving The Arts Club on Dover Street - the Dubai restaurant’s sister venue - shortly after 1pm on Monday in the hope it prompts witnesses to come forward. “He was alone and wearing a blue t-shirt and black jeans. He later bought a white baseball cap,” police said. He was later seen arriving alone at Dr Power restaurant in Queensway about 10.30pm - which was serving food from stalls outside and playing music to crowds that had been to Carnival.
