A wind advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in a number of counties.
The strongest winds are likely Saturday afternoon, forecasters said. Trees and power lines could be knocked down, forecasters said, and unsecured outdoor objects may blow away.
Forecasters said drivers — especially those driving large vehicles like tractor-trailers — should use extra caution, as driving during such powerful winds could be dangerous. Snow is also possible between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, forecasters said. The snow could be heavy at times, but forecasters aren’t calling for significant accumulation. Temperatures are expected to peak in the upper 30s.
