Young girls could be heard screaming “someone help my mum” before a Queensland woman died of her injuries after a struggle with would-be intruders late on Boxing Day at her house north of Brisbane.
Credit:The 41-year-old, Emma Lovell, and her husband Lee, 43, confronted two people at their North Lakes home about 11.30pm on Monday and a scuffle broke out on the front porch before the intruders fled.
Emma was wounded and was treated by emergency workers who had raced to the address but she could not be saved.Neighbour Jay Balhatchet, who witnessed paramedics helping Emma on the front lawn, said the neighbourhood was woken up to screams.Advertisement“It’s pretty sad that’s happened to them.”Flowers left at a house in North Lakes where a woman died after a confrontation with would-be intruders late on Boxing Day.

Nine News reported that four men were assisting police on Tuesday morning, with footage showing police leading men dressed in forensic coveralls from the scene.
Police set up a crime scene and launched a homicide investigation, urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.
