Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal hit and run on a dark and narrow road in Darwin's northern suburbs overnight.
Police were at the scene on Batten Road in Marrarra this morningPolice say a 27-year-old male pedestrian was killed on Batten Road in Marrara, near the YiSSA short-stay accommodation for visitors from remote communities.Emergency services were called to the scene, but paramedics declared the man dead.
"The man’s injuries appear consistent with having been struck by a vehicle," Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Corey Borton said.A clean-up is underway after officers cordoned off the scene.Anyone who has information about the incident, or has recorded dash cam footage from the area overnight, is being asked to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference 9878550.
