Actress Justine Bateman criticizes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for using the LA wildfires as an opportunity to rehabilitate their public image.

A major Hollywood star has unleashed on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and accused the former working royals of using the LA wildfires as a “photo op”. Actress Justine Bateman has accused the Sussexes of using the Los Angeles wildfires as a “photo op” to rehabilitate their public image. At least 180,000 people have been ordered to evacuate as out-of-control wildfires continue to leave trails of destruction across Los Angeles, with the death toll rising to 24 as of Monday.

More than 7,500 emergency personnel continue to battle five blazes in the southern California region, which have been fuelled by powerful winds and dry conditions. \On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed handing out food parcels to those affected by the devastating fires at the Pasadena Convention Centre. The Pasadena Convention Centre is currently a refuge for hundreds of victims of the Eaton Fire, which has claimed 16 lives. The couple were also photographed hugging José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen, which is distributing free hot meals to the public and emergency crews. Dozens of Hollywood stars losing homes in the fires, including Paris Hilton, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Mel Gibson. \Bateman, 58, was not a fan of the former working royals’ volunteer work and likened Harry and Meghan to “ambulance chasers” using the tragedy for publicity. \“What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved. They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? The Sussexes, who live a two-hour drive away in Montecito, were praised by Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, who claimed Harry and Meghan showed up “anonymously”. Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive'photo op' they achieved. They are'touring the damage'? Are they politicians now? They don't live here; they are tourists. \No one knew they were serving food, with masks on. The BBC has also reported that the Sussexes, who own a sprawling nine-bedroom estate, have “taken in some friends” who lost their homes in the blaze
