Hong Kong has banned flights from eight countries - including Australia - in the wake of a Omicron outbreaks.In the video above, Hong Kong’s quest for zero COVID is taking its toll“Passenger flights from these countries will not be allowed to land in Hong Kong and individuals who have stayed in those countries are not allowed to board flights to Hong Kong, including transit flights,” Hong Kong Chief executive Carrie Lam told reporters on Wednesday.
Those restrictions include the cancellation of large-scale public events and the closure of 15 different types of business, including bars, gyms, nightclubs and beauty salons. Hong Kong is continuing to pursue a strict zero-COVID policy - one of the few places in the world still pursuing the policy, along with mainland China.
