Hoons who took over a section of the Princes Highway in Springvale have ended up the victims of their own reckless behaviour when one vehicle flipped and another slid across a median strip. 7NEWS

“He hits the ground and sparks are flying everywhere and everyone was shocked,” one witness, William Poplawski said.Credit:Mathew and Alana Bruno attended the event with their baby daughters.Mathew and Alana Bruno were captured on video driving away from the event seconds before the Nissan Patrol flipped.“It was getting out of control, we didn’t want the girls to get hurt or anything,” he said.Locals say this same stretch of highway is often used by hoons to gather and race most weekends.

“I have reported them a number of times actually because sometimes it can get 3am, 4am in the morning and it just doesn’t stop, it’s relentless,” one resident told 7NEWS.
