Northern Territory Health authorities are hopeful a massive fire which destroyed its Darwin warehouse will not affect hospital services.

The warehouse in the Darwin suburb of Berrimah is used to house medical supplies for four hospitals across the Top End.

The warehouse caught fire on Sunday with a large plume of smoke covering the entire area of Berrimah and across the Darwin suburbs.
