A concerned Jeff Horn says Anthony Mundine is "starting to lose himself", with talk of a comeback fight against Michael Zerafa raising fresh fears for the Australian boxing great's long-term health.

While Horn was able to emerge victorious, no one could deny the damage sustained by both men that night.At 44 years of age and with 58 professional career fights to his name, the prospect of Mundine coming out of retirement for a second time to face a heavy-handed fighter in his prime is enough to leave even his toughest critics concerned.

"I don't know why he's still doing it; he's made millions from the sport of boxing, he shouldn't need to keep fighting. But he loves it. That's the bad part for him. He actually loves that media attention, he loves proving people wrong. The effects of sustained, localised and repeated damage to the head has been well documented throughout the sport's long history, leading many of its greats to become 'punch drunk' – a condition characterised by behavioural problems, mood changes, speech impediments and problems with thinking.
