A violent brawl between rival gangs erupted in a Brisbane park overnight, leaving one person dead and 10 injured.
Police were called to break up the horrific scene at O’Callaghan Park in Zillmere at 5.30pm, after reports that two groups of African youths attacked each other with bats and knives.Eight others also suffered injuries.Police at O’Callaghan Park in Zillmere, on Brisbane’s northside, where one man died and 10 more were injured in a violent brawl. Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said the incident appeared to be retribution for another incident in western Brisbane earlier in the week. “We ask people who know the individuals involved, to encourage them to remain calm,” Supt Fleming said.Police are looking for witnesses to piece together what happened in the bloody fight, and it remains unclear how many people were involved.“We are doing all we can to hold people accountable for this level of violence,” Supt Fleming said.
