The mask mandate in Queensland has been extended as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the state.

Queensland also reached a milestone of 90.1 per cent of people aged 16 years and over receiving the first dose of a vaccine and 85.4 per cent were fully vaccinated.

People are not required to wear masks outdoors, at workplaces, hospitality venues such as restaurants and nightclubs. “Everyone’s had to change the way they live, the way they go about things and like I said, we’re entering a new stage of the pandemic. On Tuesday, Deputy Premier Steven Miles announced quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated close contacts of a positive case would drop from 14 to seven days’ isolation and get a COVID-19 test on day one and five to reduce the impact on people and businesses.
