“Ready to take a cold shower and go to sleep,” said the champ, who downed about 21,750 calories on his road to immortality. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the contest was moved from the boardwalk, on the corner of Surf and Stillwell avenues, to a storage room in Nathan’s. “They’re there pumped up, and I hit a wall and it took a little bit more work to get through it,” he added.Chestnut “trained a little bit more” in “this crazy year,” and said “being inside helped” because of the cooler temperature.
