A yellow weather warning is in place for Lancashire with forecasters warning of potential flooding across Blackpool, Preston, Morecambe Bay, and East Lancashire
Thunderstorms are set to hit Lancashire today with forecasters predicting flooding, lightning strikes, hail and strong winds.
A yellow warning is in place from 2pm through to 11.59pm. It covers the whole of the county although higher areas are expected to receive the worst of the weather. According to the Met Office flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly. There is also the potential for damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.The Met Office warned that some communities might become cut off if roads flood. Power cuts might also occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
