“This is a joke, isn’t it? You’re pulling my leg.” Clearly Mark* didn’t believe the news when he was told by lottery officials he was suddenly $75,000 richer. The Victorian man created an account with Oz Lotteries when purchasing a ticket for the Powerball last week, signing up to its free Daily Winners program at the same time. The program gives players the chance to win every day — with $500 draws every day, a $2500 draw every Friday and a monthly draw worth $75,000.
He told them he planned to spend his winnings renovating his house, paying off debt and hopefully buying a new car. “It does a lot,” he said. “It means absolutely f****** everything. It pulls me out of a lot of s***.” After receiving the news, Mark said the first person he’d share the good news with would be his mum. The first month of the Daily Winners program gave away over $97,000 to 30 lucky players.
