A government cash boost will go towards improving and fast tracking the diagnosis of coronavirus. 9News
The Federal Government has today announced the cash boost to improve and fast, including the use of Artificial Intelligence software to help better diagnose patients.
The plan will see $1 million go towards a project that uses that software to train doctors so that they can use CAT scans to better diagnose the severity of the virus in patients with breathing difficulties. Hospital staff test people outside the Tanunda War Memorial Hospital, a dedicated COVID-19 testing clinic to deal with the expected uptick in cases in the Barossa Valley, northeast of Adelaide, on March 31., aiming to detect weaknesses and provide individual training.
The technology could potentially upskill doctors and radiologists at a time when respiratory specialists around the world are in high demand. A further $2 million will go to research in nine areas including aged care and Indigenous communities.
