NSW coach Brad Fittler has offered up a radical new proposal for this year's grand final and State of Origin series, suggesting the game should allow fans to attend if they can log on to an app and self-isolate prior to the event.but are yet to decide what the remainder of the season looks like despite the announcement.cases each day in Australia starting to slow down, restrictions around large events and social gatherings are yet to be relaxed across all states.
But if the NRL season goes ahead as planned and Australia's COVID-19 pandemic continues to improve, Fittler hopes the game can start looking at ways to bring fans back to the stadiums.The Roosters legend offered his proposal to the NRL, suggesting they sell tickets to the grand final and State of Origin with every fan undertaking coronavirus testing and participating in self-isolation while adding all their results to an app.
"I've got a theory, that for the grand final, if we've got a grand final setting date, you could sell tickets and those people go on to an app and they have to self-isolate for the two weeks prior," Fittler said on"They have to go through some testing to turn up and make the grand final the first day where there's a crowd, and you have all corona free people who have been isolating get tested on the way in.
