Hidden deep beneath inner Sydney, a labyrinth of motorway tunnels that form the most complex part of the controversial WestConnex motorway will open within the next two months, testing motorists’ nerves and authorities’ ability to respond to any disruptions.to help motorists chart a range of trips through the $3.9 billion interchange to destinations across the city.
You will have to take a left from Johnston Street through traffic lights and briefly onto The Crescent before quickly veering left towards the City West Link. . You will then pass through a three-lane tunnel before it narrows to two lanes as you enter the interchange, and are joined by traffic from the Iron Cove Link in a tunnel which widens again to three lanes.
Make sure to watch for traffic on your right-hand side as the tunnel merges with two other lanes. From there, it is relatively straightforward as you rise to the surface and join Victoria Road and cross the Iron Cove Bridge into Drummoyne.Travelling north through the main three-lane M8 tunnels, you will have to veer left onto an exit ramp and through the interchange towards the City West Link.
